What is Botox/Dysport?
"Botox", also known as onabotulinumtoxinA, is a protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is a medication that can be injected into muscles to temporarily improve the look of fine line and wrinkles, and it can also be injected therapeutically to help with various medical conditions (see below).
Botox has found a valuable role in the field of cosmetic and medical aesthetics and is the leading non-surgical cosmetic treatment across Canada and the USA.
In the context of cosmetic treatments, Botox is most commonly used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face, particularly in areas like the forehead, between the eyebrows (glabellar lines or "elevens"), and around the eyes (crow's feet). When injected in small, controlled amounts, Botox works by blocking nerve signals in the muscles, causing them to relax. This relaxation softens the appearance of lines and wrinkles, giving the skin a smoother and more youthful look.

What You Need To Know
DURATION
Neurotoxin treatments last approximately 3-4 months. Results will vary depending on the dose and how your body metabolizes the neurotoxin. For optimal results, regular maintenance is recommended.
THE TWO WEEK WAIT
Anti-wrinkle treatments can take up to 2 weeks to see the full effect of the treatment and requires a touch-up approximately every 3-4 months.
THE PROCESS
We start by discussing what your goals and budget are, to make sure we develop a plan that accomplishes those goals in a safe and effective manner. Once the injection site is thoroughly cleaned, we complete the injections, chat about post-care instructions and book a follow-up for 2-3 weeks.
